Why FBC Linden?

Greetings everyone! I’m sure we all have been at a point where we are looking for a good church home. Perhaps you are someone that has recently moved to the area. Maybe you’re someone who has been out of church for awhile, but you know you need to get back into church. Maybe you’re someone who has been hurt at church and have neglected attending any church because of it. Or maybe you are one of our church members and just need a reminder of what makes our church great! Whatever it may be, I want to share a few reasons why I think FBC Linden is a great church to be a part of. 

First and most important, we are a church dedicated to the truth of God’s Word. There are so many churches that have departed to the left or to the right (Joshua 1:9) from God’s Word. There are many churches who depart from the Bible’s definitions of sin. There are some churches that do not preach the full Gospel. There are some churches that have replaced preaching with motivational speaking. When you are out looking for a church, this should be one of the top priorities on your list! I believe full heartedly from the preaching on Sunday mornings to adult, youth, and children’s classes, we are a church that preaches the Word of God faithfully! While we are not the only church in the area that does this, we are one of them! Not only that, we have a worship team, led by Lauren Hart that sings biblically based songs, that honor and glorify God and are easy to sing along too. We have a mix of some older and some newer songs, but all of them are great choices and are sure to help you prepare your heart for the message God lays on my heart to preach! 

Secondly, our church is a family. If you come to our church, you can be sure that you will be welcomed with care and love! I whole-heartedly believe this aspect can make or break a church. After being a part of this church for a few months, I have seen and experienced the love and care of this church! If you have something that needs prayed for, it will be! If you have a need that we can help within reason, it will be met! Most people that are looking for a church home are looking for somewhere they can feel comfortable and loved. FBC Linden is that place! We are constantly working on strengthening our ministries and growing our ministries for the glory of God, to create better fellowship and to create more opportunities for spiritual growth in wisdom and knowledge! Come be a part of the growth! 

Thirdly, we have some of the best children’s department leaders! My daughter, who is 3 years old, gets extremely excited for “church day”. Last Sunday she woke up and said, “Daddy. Guess what? It’s church day!” I know for any Christian parent, it is vitally important that your children are safe, love their class and teachers, and they are being taught the truth of God’s word! We have excellent teachers at our church that make that happen! We also have an excellent youth program led by Shelby that also fellowships together and learns more about God and His Word. So whether you or your child is 6 months old or 18 years old, you can be certain they will be welcomed and comfortable at our church and you can have peace of mind! 

Fourthly, we are a “normative” size church. I was reading the other day that 80% of churches in America have less than 100 in attendance. We are a small church, but we are norm! Because of the size of our church, we all get to know each other well and we all become one big family! It always warms my heart on Sunday mornings to see people from all ages sitting in the pews of our church! We have a wide age range, but one common goal: to know Christ more and to make Him known to others! 

Fifthly, and finally, I am confident that the Lord is at work in our midst! By the grace of God, we are constantly having new visitors, the Lord is changing hearts, the Lord is giving me and soon enough the church a vision for the future. This is something to be a part of! I believe that every Christian is called to attend church and to use the gifts that God has given them. There is no doubt that there is a place for you to serve at FBC Linden, whether that be leading a Bible study, helping with the youth or children, church maintenance, sound team, nursery, outreach, etc. There is not only a place for you to attend, but for you to serve. Regardless of what church you go to, I believe that you should be serving in some capacity. When you begin to serve, that is when you really get connected to the mission of the Holy Spirit in our midst! That is when you build deep bonds with others in the church and community. If you come to FBC Linden, I am convinced that you could be a part of what God is doing. I believe it was Henry Blackabee who once said, “Find out where God is working and go join him there.” I believe God is at work in our church, and I would love to see you be apart of it! 

On behalf of First Baptist Linden, we would love to have you at our church! We have services on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am, Sunday School at 9:30 AM, and coffee and fellowship at 9:15 am. On Wednesdays, we have a meal at 6 PM, with children, youth and adult Bible studies starting around 6:30 PM. We would love to see you and if you would like to connect with me, my info is below!
