Our History

First Baptist Church of Linden has served our community since 1894. We are a welcoming family rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and committed to helping people know Christ better and make him known to others.

FBC LINDEN VISION & MISSION

VISION
To become a church where every person feels like family, every believer grows in Christ, and our community sees the love of Jesus in action.

MISSION
Pray. Serve. Love. Grow.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

I. THE BIBLE
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and our authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).

II. GOD
There is one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:13).

III. SALVATION
Salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4).

IV. THE CHURCH
The church exists to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, teach Scripture, make disciples, and serve others (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42; James 1:27).

V. THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
Every believer is called to pray, serve, love, and grow in Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Mark 10:45; 1 Corinthians 13:13; 2 Peter 3:18).

VI. ORDINANCES
We observe baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as the ordinances given to the church (Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).

VII. MARRIAGE
We believe the Bible teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to be between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6).

VIII. CHRIST’S RETURN
We believe Jesus Christ will return and bring His kingdom to fulfillment (John 14:1–3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 21:1–4).

First Baptist Church of Linden is a Southern Baptist church committed to the truth of God’s Word and the teachings of Jesus Christ. We affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as a summary of our beliefs.
