Hello

Pastor Jonathan Jenkins with his wife, Allie Jenkins, and their children: Emerald and Onyx

    My Story

    Pastor Jonathan Jenkins

Hi! My name is Pastor Jonathan Jenkins, and I have had the privilege of serving as the pastor of First Baptist Church of Linden since October 2024. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Allie, since December 8, 2018. Together we have two wonderful children, Emerald and Onyx, who bring so much joy to our lives.

I grew up in a small town in south Georgia where my dad served as a pastor. As a kid, I gave my life to Christ one Sunday morning after the Lord convicted my heart about my sin and my need for salvation. From that moment on, I found myself drawn to ministry, theology, caring for others, and reaching those who don’t yet know Christ.

When I was young, my dad often took me along as he visited people in the church, and I loved attending preaching events with him. Those experiences planted seeds that slowly grew into a clear call to ministry. When my mom passed away when I was 15, I went through a deep crisis of faith. By God’s grace—and through studying apologetics—the Lord strengthened my faith and helped me rebuild my trust in Him.

I was licensed to preach at my dad’s church and later attended Brewton-Parker College, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry. During my time there, I pastored a small country church and was ordained in 2017. Since then, I have served in pastoral and youth ministry and have had the incredible privilege of seeing many people come to Christ and grow in their relationship with the Lord.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 1:7:

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and discipline.”

I love this verse because it reminds me that true wisdom begins with a proper reverence for God.

Outside of ministry, I enjoy shooting, games, playing sports, hosting the Grace Bond Ministries theology podcast, and most of all spending time with my family.

I’m certainly not a perfect person, but I have a deep love and compassion for people. As I often say, I’m just a nobody telling everybody about Somebody who saved my soul. I love getting to know people, hearing their stories, and helping them know Christ and make Him known to others.
